Had a hard time getting it to fit and realized i did not have the filter lined up with the unlock arrows. Overall was easy once i figured that out. Was able to reset the filter light using the samsung app. A small amount of water does come out when swtiching the filter. Once i had the new filter in i had to cycle the water in my fridge a few times for it to come in clear.

With previous appliances, changing filters has been a messy and difficult process. I wasn’t sure what to expect of the new Samsung filter, but was hoping it would be ann easier process.
Thankfully, the steps necessary to change out the filter were quick and there was no mess or need for clean-up. It was as simple as removing the old filter, inserting the new filter, twisting to lock it in place, and letting the water run for a few minutes to prime the filter. This was much easier than prior experiences of needing to put the new filter in a cup of water for several hours and then insert the dripping filter into the refrigerator.
Not only was the process quick, easy, and mess-free, the results are better than expected. The filter leaves no smell or taste in the water. Water from the dispenser is even better than bottled water.
Thanks to the ease of installation and the quality results, my family will continue using the Samsung filters for our refrigerator.

We use a lot of filtered water and the replacement filter will last 4-5 months. No tools are needed to install the filter, just twist, pull out the old filter, push in the new filter and twist to tighten it in place. there are a lot of knock off filters available but why take the chance of it not working properly.

This is an original Samsung product and not a 3rd party filter. I've always been tempted by lower cost 3rd party filters, but utlimately I feel much more comfortable with the Samsung branded filter. I'm never sure what media is actually used in the non-Samsung filters and have concerns over the proper fit. I don't want my family drinking all of their water running through an unknown material and don't want to discover a leak from the fridge due to a poor fit.
The filter fit perfectly and was easily installed. It works. Period. It's a water filter, plain and simple, and I do prefer the taste of the water coming through the filter vs. our tap water. If you are looking to improve or maintain quality drinking water for you and your family without installing an expensive reverse osmosis system or whole home filtration unit, this is the obvious way to go.

Replacing the filter was very straightforward and only took couple minutes. It fit exactly as expected and I didn't have to fight with it or make adjustments to get it seated properly.
After flushing the new filter, the water tasted clean and fresh with no noticeable order (or aftertaste even). Since the filtered water feeds both our Beverage Center and the ice maker, I also like knowing that the ice we're using comes from the same source. We go through a lot of water and ice as a family so this is one of those refrigerator maintenace items that actually matters to us.
I'd also recommend and prefer sticking with the genuine Samsung filter instead of taking a chance on a cheaper third-party version. Overall, it does exactly what I want a refrigerator filter to do: installs easily, gives us good tasting water, and keeps our water/ice system working properly with no concerns.

What I don't like is how much water you have to run through it before you can actually use it. It takes a while, and I feel like all that flushing uses up some of the filter before you even get to enjoy it. That's my only complaint though.
Once it's flushed out, the water is cold, fresh, and tastes good. Nothing weird about it. If you want better water from your fridge without buying bottles, this one works well. This is the only filter that I will ever get for my refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Haf-Qin Samsung water filter as I have a Samsung refrigerator. This filter does a fantastic job filtering the tap water as I can't stand the taste without it. The ice it makes through the filter is so good and tasty. My app tells me when the filter is ready to be changed. It is so easy to change the filter out. Just turn to unlock and pull out and slide the new one in and twist to lock. It is recommended to run about a gallon or so of water through it, then it's good to go for about 6 months.

Where I live, the water quality is bad. It is highly chlorinated and filled with different minerals, requiring the need to have filtered water for consumption. This Samsung filter does just that and goes a step further by removing 40 different contaminants in the drinking water dispensed from my fridge. The water tastes really fresh and I can't detect any chlorine or other minerals in it.
I recommend sticking with the authentic Samsung filter as it is designed to fit perfectly into the filter housing unit, ensuring a tight seal to prevent leaks. You won't regret purchasing this!
